Dog gone it

The weekend was a lot of fun. I was running around a little crazy to get things done on Friday, but everything worked out. I had my make up done at the MAC counter. The make up artist was a boy. Which felt a bit strange at first, because I have never had a boy do my makeup. He was very nice and currently attending Stanford. When I left I felt like he did a great job. He even put some of this fun sparkly makeup under my eyes. HHhubby was looking at me all night, wanting to wipe under my eye. Snicker. I made a purchase of this lovely lip color. I felt even better about buying it since In the spirit of all Viva Glam, every cent raised goes to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.

We started out the night with dinner at this tasty spot.. We ordered plenty
of sushi and I had a New York Strip. Which was quite tasty, specially since I don't eat a lot of red meat. We continuted the night by catching a cab
and heading over to the party. The party was held at the pier and was HUGE. Easily thousands of people. This year we managed to find everyone we wanted to see. It was great.

Until it happened.

My dogs were barking. And when I say barking. I'm talking, all the thoughts of looking sexy in those boots - out the door.

I was actually having a hard time walking around. So I was a walllflower in the corner. Thankfully everyone was close by, but really take my cue and wear the comfy shoes.

Around midnight the party was over and we were to go onto the next party. I couldnt do it. We had to get a cab back to the hotel. I left the party barefoot. I would have fit in at the trailer park. Really now.

It was a great evening and I wasn't the only girl that left the party barefoot. Always nice to hear that.

We spent the rest of the weekend having fun with the HHkids. We went shopping and to the Disney store. The HHkids enjoyed ice cream and watched Open Season. It was a fun time.
Later that night we made our way over to Union Square and HHgirl went crazy over the huge Christmas tree. HHboy was less enthusiatic but still having fun hearing everyone honk and watching the trolley cars.

and so it begins

I'm very excited that it's Friday. You are to? We're going in to the city for the weekend.I know I've mentioned this one to many times, but that's how I am. HHmomma is really looking forward to the weekend. Which may not sound OH so exciting to you. It does to me. I'm very much look forwarding to having a date night (work party) with HHhubby. It's so easy to become disconnected from the hubby and crave that need to reconnect. I miss him. I miss us. I love our family, but I miss spending time with him.

We're starting the evening with dinner and friends at the Hotel we are staying it. Which is a huge plus because this time last year, it took an hour to get a cab at dinner time in the city. We were very late to dinner. This year we just need to make it to our hotel at 7:00. The restaurant serves primarily sushi (which I don't love) but there are some things I like. Mostly the cooked amateur eats. They do however offer, other fare.

After dinner, we plan to stop by a party before the main event and then one soiree after. Hopefully I can last the night. I like to go into the night two feet first. Not always the best date. I'm an old maid and usually in bed by 10:30. I'm lucky to make it all the way through Nip/Tuck.

Of course I'm also looking forward to having some fun in the city with the kids for the rest of the weekend. Plans are undecided. Mostly because I recently learned that FAO Schwartz is no longer in SF only New York. I was really looking forward to taking the kids there. Whoops.

Is it me or is this time of year a bit overwhelming? I know the feeling is mostly self inflicted, but it seems like the ever growing list of things to do is crazy long.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to spend some time with friends over the holidays. Some of who we haven't seen in a really long time. Some located just across the bay and others in the sweet state of GA.

We still need to get our Christmas tree so we'll do that next week.

Pawdicure? Only in S.F.

Today the S.F. Chron ran an article about the The Wag Hotel, the hotel caters to canine!
Here is a blurb from the article:

" Fido might begin his weekend stay with a dip in the swimming pool. He can follow with a stress-relieving massage or a "blueberry facial" or even treat himself to a "pawdicure." At the end of the day, he can return to his $85-a-night suite, kick up his paws on the sofa and snooze away the evening to a stream of Disney animation movies, piped in to his room on a high-definition flat-screen TV.
Such is the city dog's life, circa 2006.

I find this hotel both hilarious and yet I am interested. Mostly to see the people that would actually put their pet in a hotel. It's an inventive idea for a place to keep your pet. This place seems so fun. Maybe I should take Roxy. I know there are people out there that put their pets first, but this is insane. You have to go look at their website and at how nice the digs are. They even have dog jewelry! They have a "cattery" with a fish tank, sleep sacs and 2 story condo. This place is to much.
