September 14, 2006 making jewelry I'm very excited for tonight. I'm taking a jewelry creating class. I've been searching all over for really cool beads. You would be surprised (well if you care about this sort of stuff) at all the color and high end stuff they have out there. Forget buying Liz Palacios creations. HHmomma creations are hot on the horizon. Well, maybe. The plan is to make one piece of jerwlery for each women in the family this Christmas. I like this idea. (act surprised when you open said gift) When my cousin was here visiting, last summer we went to a bead shop in downtown Palo Alto. I was about 6 months pregnant and maybe a little emotional. I didn't think so, but maybe someone mentioned that I was. The necklace style I selected to create was one of the more difficult versions, so I required some assistance from the bead gurus. Well, let's just say I left the place in tears. The bead guru was also a freaking Nazi. She was so mean! I would have walked away with my tail between my legs, if I had one. Instead she handed me a tissue and had no clue the tears were from her insults and down talk. Perfect. My cousin thought she was a Nazi, too. Even if she said this statement to make me feel better. The fact that she justified my emotions, makes her a-ok in my book. So hence the plan to bead somewhere else. HHmomma to be bead guru or something like that! I will post pictures with my creation. I know you are all hanging on the edge of your computer chair. |

Very fun! Great idea to give every woman in your family a handmade jewelry present! I am sure they will love it! I love making jewelry...time flies when you do it!
mmmm.....yes, jewelry....very excited...you will have fun and go crazy over beads...much like I do with yarn......
oh yes, that lady was a bitch. a nazi bitch.
you are going to have oodles of fun! it is going to be exciting at christmas time. I like homemade gifts... i will wear whatever you make me everyday!
I love that idea too, with all the women getting jewelry from you. My mom used to do that for us, every Christmas she would buy herself and us (my sister and I) the same piece of jewelry - just something special for us. I enjoyed it every year!
Looking forward to seeing the pictures!!
Heck yea, I love going to craft shows and seeing what neat stuff people make with beads. Very intricate stuff. And the beads, yes, are amazing! We saw a bunch at the glass factory, the glass ones cost a lot of money, but they were so pretty. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
I loved the class last night. I made a pair of earrings and a bracelet. The beads selection I had with me wasnt great, but I made do! We were there two hours and it went by really quick!
fun fun
