Time-Tested Beauty Tips For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone ...
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed and redeemed and redeemed. Never throw out anybody. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
Sam Levenson
Note: this is the complete poem Audrey read to hers sons, Sean and Luca on Christmas Eve 1992. The author, Sam Levenson wrote it for his grandchild.
************************************************************************************* This is one of my favorite poems. I thought it would be right to end my time here with something I love. Something positive. I always wondered if I would know when to stop blogging. Now I know-that in fact, you will know when the time is right. It has been so much fun sharing all the good and bad in life. Sharing comments and laughs with many of you. It's time for me to focus on my family and business. Simply stated. Good luck to all of you. Love, HHM
Yippee. We leave today for New York. Or I should say tonight. We are taking a red eye. I guess I will finally understand why this flight is named the same. Any recommendations for sleepy time? HHhubby and I decided to take this flight, so we could fly together. This was the only way he could be where he needed to be Thursday.
drum roll please............................
I have a chance to be interviewed by ABC news for Etsy and my jewelry shop. If you have never been to Etsy you must go, there are so many good finds. I'm so excited. It will require getting off the plane, going to our hotel freshening up and flagging a cab (i'm so new york) across town. But it's worth it. I will keep you posted. I even heard that the camera makes you feel and look thinner then you are. So exciting.
Easter was fun with the kids. They were collecting snails. Nice. It was also my parents 40th wedding anniversary and my aunt's birthday. So there was a lot of celebrating. A family friend even made a wedding cake. It was a mini replica of my parents wedding cake. What a nice thing to do.
So why do people turn into total "bits" when there is an accident on the freeway. Seriously a fire engine had to get through on the left side of the fast lane and this dumfk chose to use this tragic oppurtunity to get ahead and drove behind him through all the traffic in his sidekick. Nice.
HHboy said he would like to "do london." Uhm ok. I guess one of his buddies in his class is going to London and so now HHboy wwould like to "do" London.
And seriously why is my neck starting to look like a chicken. Do they have neck lifts? All those years of no sun block.
I'm leaving real soon. I want to be a part of it..... New York. Yippee. I can't wait HHhubby has a business trip and I am going to meet him there for a fun weekend. Hopefully we will have time to see a show. I've never seen a real show. Any recommendations? We are also going to meet my friend and her hubby for dinner. I can't wait I haven't seen her in at least two years (the last time I went to NY). Although it will be a quick trip, most likely going via red eye-it will be worth it.
HHhubby will work the first two days and then we can explore. The Hubbs also has family there, so we can hopefully meet up with his cousins. I think they still live in the East Village.
We did manage to go to Monterey last weekend. It was a spontaneous trip which was great. I love doing this. As you have kids you do this less, and we should really do it more. We stayed over Saturday night and then went to the Aquarium Sunday. Really it is pneomnal place-internationally acclaimed and all. The kids had a blast and then we met friends for lunch. Fun beach side with a cold beer.
Things have been busy here lately. Nothing unusual, but the daily grind. We had a bout of pink eye here both HHkids and then a bloody nose yesterday. Not me HHboy.
Today I got my brows waxed and I'm ready for the world.
Not much else to report, I am having my first jewelry show next weekend. So I need to start planning and getting everything in order. I was able to get some other artist to donate some goodies, so each person will leave with a little bag of goodies. Who doesn't like girly freebies.
And I will also be raffling jewelry. Don't you wish you could come. I do.
I had to retire from writing at Fluff. Writing as Vanity Flair was fun, but even though the site has a ton of traffic there as little interaction. At some point you need people making comments. Even if its just to say Britney is a fool. Or Trump wears a toup. You get the idea.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and hopefully there will be more post soon.
